Oh, I love it. I have some yarn just that color! It's Plymouth Galway Highland Heather in color #711. I think it's stockinette but I can't decide if the brim is a cast-on or -off.

I really want to know about her shawl, too.

We should have a Kerri Russell-along.

The brim looks like its cast on, making it bottom-up, yes? Besides, I always prefer the bottom's up! approach. :) I have an idea - why don't you go to Needless Markup (HS in OC, my only excuse), find the hat, inspect it to no end, then replicate it? Annika's already got you the yarn!

y'know, on second thought, mebbe it's sideways knit, then seamed on the cast-on/cast-off edges? Or check out Wendy's Le Slouch (http://www.knitandtonic.typepad.com/leslouchrev.pdf), only do it in stockinette.

I remember seeing this hat in EW and loving it. I had no idea there were so many others who felt the same! I'm totally going to make one as soon as someone else reverse-engineers it. ;)

It looks like 1x1 rib to mea and I agree that the brim looks like a cast on edge. I love Felicity!

Hi! I found out that this hat was knitted in "punto ingles" (this is in spanish, unfortunately, I still don't know how to translate it to english). Anyway...the first and second row is: 1x1, and the third and the next rows you must knit under the right stitch, taking together these stiches... I hope this image explains it better:
